Interventions—Canadian International Trade Tribunal
Submission made to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal: Review of its findings regarding the duties applicable to the importation of certain prepared jarred baby foods.
On February 12, 2003, the Bureau filed a submission in the above matter making representations against maintaining the duties. The Bureau believes that the Canadian International Trade Tribunal has the necessary discretion to take into consideration elements of market behaviour and competition when making its determination. The Bureau also argues that the Canadian market is ripe for the return of competitive product choices for Canadian consumers.
The Bureau will be participating in and presenting expert evidence at the public hearings to be held by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on March 3, 2003. For more information on this matter, please consult the Canadian International Trade Tribunal's Web site.
To obtain a copy of the submission, please call the offices of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal at 613‑993‑3595.
