The Competition Bureau, on behalf of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), would like to advise Canadian consumers who invested in SkyBiz.com that they may submit a claim for redress.
In June 2001, the FTC charged that SkyBiz violated the FTC Act. The case, scheduled to go to trial in January 2003, was settled out of court. The settlement provided, among other elements, $20-million for consumer redress.
SkyBiz promoted a work-at-home business opportunity and a chance to earn thousands of dollars. Participants were required to purchase an “e-Commerce Web Pak”, at $125 per pak.
Consumers must submit all claims to the funds administrator, Robb Evans & Associates at www.skybiz-redress.com by July 31, 2004. To view the latest information about the SkyBiz redress fund, consumers can go to www.skybiz-redress.com.
