  • Minimum quality requirements must be met depending on whether the article is gold, silver, platinum, or palladium.
  • The quality mark applied must truly and correctly indicate the quality of the precious metal.
  • The quality of the article must fall within the prescribed tolerances for precious metal articles.
  • An acceptable quality designation must be used depending on whether the article is gold, silver, platinum, or palladium.
  • Where only a part of the article is composed of the precious metal of the quality specified, the name of the part must be specified immediately before or after the quality mark.
  • A legitimate trademark must be applied to the precious metal article.
  • The method of marking the trademark must be the same as the method applied to the quality mark.
  • Other marks applied to the precious metal article must not be calculated to mislead or deceive.
