The quality of the article must fall within the prescribed tolerances for plated flatware articles.
An acceptable quality designation must be used depending on whether the article is silver plated or gold plated. An acceptable designation must be used if the article is base metal nickel.
If the base metal of the flatware article contains less than 10% pure nickel by weight, then the flatware must bear the name of the base metal in conjunction with the trademark.
A legitimate trademark must be applied to the precious metal article.
The method of marking the trademark must be the same as the method applied to the quality mark.
Other marks applied to the precious metal article must not be calculated to mislead or deceive.
