Competition Bureau invites feedback on CA Identification Number service standards

June 15, 2015 — OTTAWA, ON — Competition Bureau

Interested parties are invited to provide comments on the proposed Competition Bureau service standards for the issuance of CA Identification Numbers.

Canadian businesses in the textile industry can contact the Bureau to request a CA Identification Number, which serves to identify a textile fibre product as meeting the requirements under the Textile Labelling Act. The service standards provide timely and predictable processing periods for parties who submit applications for a CA Identification Number.

Under the requirements of the User Fee Act and the Treasury Board Secretariat’s Guide on Forward Planning and Related Measures to Improve the Transparency and Predictability of the Federal Regulatory System, departments and agencies are required to implement and report on service standards. Pending this consultation, there is currently an interim service standard in place for the Bureau issuance of a CA Identification Number on Industry Canada’s website.

Anyone wishing to comment on the service standards is invited to submit input by July 30, 2015, through the Bureau’s Information Request Form or by mail:
