June 26, 2015 — OTTAWA, ON — Competition Bureau
The Competition Bureau is seeking feedback on its Communication during Inquiries bulletin on the one‑year anniversary of its publication.
In an effort to promote transparency regarding the Bureau’s work and compliance with the Competition Act, the bulletin summarizes how and when the Bureau generally communicates with parties under investigation, industry participants, complainants and the general public during an inquiry.
Originally published in June 2014, the Bureau committed to reach out to stakeholders a year later to get feedback on how the process outlined in the bulletin was working and to make adjustments, if necessary.
The Bureau welcomes input from the public on the areas in which the process outlined in the bulletin might be improved. The Bureau may contact parties that provided feedback should further details be required on the input received.
This process is in keeping with the Bureau’s three‑year Strategic Vision of continuing to increase collaboration and openness. It also supports the Bureau’s Action Plan on Transparency, which aims to promote the development of a more efficient, cost‑effective and responsive agency, while providing Canadians with more opportunities to learn about the Bureau’s work.
Interested parties are invited to provide their views on the bulletin by email, fax or regular mail no later than August 25, 2015 to:
Chris MargisonCompetition Bureau
50 Victoria Street
Responses will be posted on the Bureau’s website, unless it is specifically requested that they be kept confidential.
The Bureau will examine input received and determine whether adjustments to the process in the bulletin are required. If the process in the bulletin requires adjusting, the Bureau will update and post the revised version on its website.
