Annual Report 1994/95 - Conclusion

Most of our work in the Competition Bureau, indeed our raison d'être, has to do with the enforcement of the Competition Act and the promotion of competition law and policy objectives. The foregoing report will bear witness to the diversity of activities it encompasses. I think it needs to be emphasized, however, that the benefits of this activity accrue to Canadian business and to the Canadian public alike. The benefits of a healthy competitive business environment have a direct impact on Canada's economic well-being and our ability as a nation to continue to be a major global economic player.

The Competition Act is one of the cornerstones of Canada's economic success.
