Exemptions From The Consumer Labelling And Packaging
Act
The following products are exempt from the requirements of the Consumer
Packaging and Labelling Actand Regulations:
- Drugs and medical devices.
- Products for commercial, industrial, or institutional use only.
- Products for export only.
- Products sold only in a duty-free store.
- Prepackaged textile articles.
- Replacement parts for consumer durables (cars, appliances) if not
displayed to the consumer.
- Certain artist's supplies.

Label
A label is defined as any label, mark, sign, device, imprint, stamp, brand,
ticket, or tag.

Prepackaged Product
A Prepackaged Product means any product that is packaged in a container in
such a manner that it is ordinarily sold to or used or purchased by a
consumer
without being re-packaged.
