The Competition Bureau is seeking public comments on a draft publication, "Draft Information Bulletin: Sections 15 and 16 of the Competition Act". These sections deal with the Commissioner of Competition's powers of search and seizure. The purpose of this Bulletin is to provide an overview of sections 15 and 16 of the Competition Act and their application. More specifically, it outlines how the Commissioner obtains and executes search warrants.
This Bulletin is part of the Bureau's ongoing commitment to develop enforcement and educational tools with a view to being more transparent and predictable in its application of the laws under its jurisdiction.
Interested parties are invited to provide comments and/or suggestions by e-mail, fax, or regular mail by July 12, 2007. All submissions will be made available to the public and will be posted on the Public Comments page of the Bureau's Web site, except where confidentiality is specifically requested.
