Thank you for your letter of January 18, 2007, regarding proposed amendments to the federal Textile Labelling and Advertising Regulations.

I appreciate the efforts of the Government of Canada to ensure that the regulations remain up to date and that they continue to facilitate international trade in textile and apparel products. The Ministry of International, International and Aboriginal relations does not have any specific comments on the proposed changes at this time. However, we will consult with other Alberta government ministries and will ensure that any comments are submitted to the Competition Bureau.
