The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research is receiving funding for a project at their La Loche campus under the Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund, which aims to reinvigorate Canada's research and science base, address existing infrastructure needs while contributing to Canada's long-term innovation and sustainability objectives.

The La Loche facility expansion project will expand the existing skills training facility in the Northern Saskatchewan community of La Loche. The new construction annexed to existing buildings will provide additional specialized training spaces to strengthen the Institute's capacity to deliver skills training programs to the metis populations of the region.
