Competition Bureau seeks input on the Competition and Compliance Framework bulletin

May 20, 2015 — OTTAWA, ON — Competition Bureau

The Competition Bureau today published a draft version of the Competition and Compliance Framework bulletin for public comment. This bulletin outlines the various outreach, enforcement and advocacy approaches used to help businesses compete and prosper within the law.

The bulletin, which updates and replaces the former Conformity Continuum Information Bulletin, proposes a comprehensive and integrated approach to promoting compliance with the legislation the Bureau enforces; namely, the Competition Act, the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act (except as it relates to food), the Textile Labelling Act and the Precious Metals Marking Act.

The issuance of this draft bulletin for public comment supports the Bureau’s Action Plan on Transparency, which promotes the development of a more cost-effective and responsive agency, while also providing Canadians with an opportunity to learn more about the Bureau’s work.

Interested parties are invited to provide comments on the draft bulletin by email, fax or regular mail no later than July 20, 2015, to:
