Digital Enforcement Summit 2020
Tackling competition enforcement in the digital economy
Welcome address from the Commissioner
The Competition Bureau’s inaugural Digital Enforcement Summit is an opportunity for the Bureau and its international counterparts to share best practices, and explore new tools and strategies for tackling emerging enforcement issues in the digital era.
Throughout October and November 2020, the Bureau will host four online panels that follow the stages
of an investigation—from detection to resolution.
Each panel will focus on issues that are central to enforcement in the digital economy. For more
information on each panel, please consult the complete agenda and list of speakers.
The kickoff panel will cover two topics: the role of digital intelligence in the pre-investigation stage; and advances in evidence gathering, including its collection and processing.
October 6, 2020 @ 8:00am EDT
Our second expert panel will examine how enforcement agencies adapt major case management and team composition for digital investigations.
October 19, 2020 @ 8:00am EDT
Our third expert panel will explore innovative investigative strategies, such as AI and predictive coding in document review.
November 10, 2020 @ 8:00am EST
The final panel will focus on emerging approaches to case resolution and litigation in the digital economy, including the evolving evidentiary burdens in court.
November 26, 2020 @ 8:00am EST
